Hawai’i's Economic Strengths Lie Beyond our Shores

Linda Lingle For Hawai‘i to strengthen its economy over the long term, it is critical that we reach far beyond our own shores to create new business opportunities with perhaps the most important emerging market on the globe today — the People’s Republic of China. Last fall, I concluded a six-city visit to this vast country, home to approximately one-fifth of the world’s population, and I would like to share some highlights of this successful mission.
