Hawai’i businesses and homeowners are increasingly turning to renewable energy sources; solar water heating systems have been installed in a third of single family homes in the state (excluding Kaua’i). The average Hawai’i family could see their electric bill reduced by up to 40 percent with a solar water heater and can completely eliminate their energy bill with the addition of a photovoltaic(PV) system.
